Joaquin Murrieta was a planned series from 1959.
Goodson and Todman hired the production-writing-directing team of Andrew J. Fenady, Irvin Kershner and Bernard Kowalski in 1959, signing them to a seven-year exclusive contract. Their planned first project was this series, reportedly being made for ABC, who already had plans to air it in Spring 1960.
The project apparently ended before the first script was even written due to the possibility of a lawsuit from a Pennsylvania housewife who claimed that she had done all the original research on the subject and was never paid.
An episode of Branded titled "The Ghost of Murrieta" aired on March 20, 1966. The episode was produced by Andrew J. Fenady.
