Jay Stewart (born Jay Fix on September 6, 1918, in Summitville, IN; died September 17, 1989, in Los Angeles, CA) was an American television and radio announcer known primarily for his work on game shows. One of his longest-lasting roles was as the announcer on the game show Let's Make a Deal, which he announced throughout the 1960s and 1970s. He also announced shows for Reg Grundy Productions & Barry & Enright Productions. In his long career, Jay did host one game show; it was a local one called By the Numbers. After the death of his daughter, his life took a turn for the worse and couldn't continue his work as game show announcer. Jay committed suicide on September 17, 1989.
