Goodson Newspaper Group was a New Jersey based publisher of daily and weekly newspapers, shoppers, and free supplements. The company was formed by Mark Goodson in 1986. It had operations in several states, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. The company was sold to the Journal Register Company in 1998 for $300 million. Many of the newspapers owned by Goodson continue to operate today under 21st Century Media, the successor of the Journal Register Company.
