Game Format[]

All families consisted of four members. After the first two rounds, each succeeding round scored double points. From 1977 to 1996, the first family to reach 200 points played for a package of four prizes which always included a holiday. From 1990 to 1996, each prize package also included a cash jackpot which started at $2,000 and increased $1,000 per night. Beginning in 1994, families who won five nights won a $5,000 gold ingot. From 1995 to 1996, six-night champions also won a family holiday. From 2014 to 2018, only the third question scored double points and the fourth question scored triple points. If neither family had reached the new goal of 300 points after the fourth round, the last members of each family would be asked a question with only the top answer scoring triple points. On rare occasions, a second sudden-death faceoff would be necessary. The first family to reach 300 points played Fast Money and the other family received a $1,000 gift voucher. In Fast Money, scoring 200 points or more won $10,000 while a final score of less than 200 points would be multiplied by $10. Families who could last five nights as carryover champions won a brand new car.

Trivia[]

The short-lived 1994-95 season of the original American version of Feud hosted by the late Richard Dawson, also consisted of four family members.
The 2014-17 set and logo were inspired for the New Zealand version hosted by Dai Henwood, it aired on TV3 (now +HR=E) from 2016 until 2017.
On May 8, (8 May) 2018; Network Ten announced that they have decided to axe the 2014 remake of Feud after 1,200 episodes in four seasons according to Grant Denyer. Its original replacement was the Australian version of the British game show Pointless However, on May 20, (20 May) 2018; it was announced that an Australian adaptation of the NBC American game show Ellen's Game of Games (or Game of Games for short) will take its place (ironically enough hosted by Denyer). It premiered on 7 October (October 7) and ended on 21 December (December 21) 2018.
