Thomas Richard “Dick” Martin (born January 30, 1922, in Battle Creek, MI; died May 24, 2008, in Santa Monica, CA) was a well-known comedian and host, best known for Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. He hosted two game shows: one was the short-lived NBC game show Mindreaders, and the other was The Cheap Show. He also appeared as a guest on Password Plus and Match Game, among others. In 1981, he appeared in a special celebrity week of the aforementioned Password Plus; he appeared with Betty White, Lucille Ball, and Desi Arnaz, Jr. Ironically, he won Alphabetics with Betty. Dick lost his life to due breathing complications. He was 86 years young.
